The 79th Regiment of Foot (later known as the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders) was a British infantry regiment raised in 1793. Primarily composed of Highlanders, the regiment saw significant action during the Napoleonic Wars, serving with distinction in both the Peninsular War and the Egyptian Campaign.
